The Mvula Trust, one of South Africa’s leading developmental NGOs, is looking for a motivated LLB graduate to join its team as a Contracts & Compliance Intern in 2025. This 12-month internship offers the chance to gain hands-on legal experience in contract management, compliance, and procurement law — all within the dynamic NGO and infrastructure development space.
What You’ll Learn
As a Contracts & Compliance Intern, you’ll gain exposure to:
- Drafting, vetting, interpreting, and executing contracts
- Providing legal and compliance advice to internal teams
- Collaborating with project managers, finance, and clients
- Maintaining contract records and correspondence
- Helping develop policies and SOPs aligned with legislation
- Identifying and mitigating legal risks
- Participating in stakeholder meetings and legal workshops
- Delivering legal opinions to prevent litigation
- Understanding the legal side of infrastructure development in the NGO sector
Minimum Requirements
To qualify, you must:
✅ Hold a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree
✅ Have 0–1 year of work experience (recent grads welcome!)
✅ Understand:
- Contract law and drafting
- Procurement and compliance principles
- Statutory interpretation
- Construction contracts (advantageous)
Be proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
