Who Should Apply?
Capitec is looking for:
South African citizens
Matriculants (2025), gap-year students (2024), or full-time tertiary students (2025)
Students registered or planning to register in 2026 for a Bachelor’s Degree or Honours (NQF 7+) in:
- Actuarial Science
- Computer Science
- Information Systems / IT
- Digital Marketing
- Economics / Finance
- Mathematics / Statistics / Quantitative Management
Academic requirements:
- Matric learners: Minimum 65% average
- University students: 65% average in your most recent academic year
Who Should Not Apply?
Capitec bursaries do not cover the following:
- N4–N6, Higher Certificates, Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas
- Master’s, PhDs, or distance learning
- TVET and Community College students
- UNISA or part-time learners
What the Bursary Covers
Capitec’s bursary includes:
- Full tuition & registration fees
- Accommodation allowance
- Textbooks
- Meal allowance
- Stipend (if applicable)
- Workplace readiness & onboarding
Note: Final bursary benefits are confirmed when you sign the pledge/award letter.
Important Conditions
- Annual renewal is based on academic results and budget
- Work-back requirement: You must work at Capitec for the same number of years you were funded — or repay the bursary
- Honesty matters: Dishonesty or undisclosed part-time work = disqualification
- Preference may be given to candidates under Employment Equity

- Certified copy of your ID
- Matric certificate / latest results
- University transcript
- Proof of registration (if available)
Incomplete or dishonest applications will not be considered.
