Who Can Apply?
The learnership is open to candidates who meet the following criteria:
- South African citizens with a valid ID
- Aged between 25 and 45 years (some partners may limit to 27–35 years)
- Minimum Grade 10 certificate (Grade 12 preferred)
- Valid Code 14 (EC) driver’s licence with PrDP
- No criminal record and medically fit
- Able to understand and speak English or Afrikaans
- Must pass a psychometric test and attend an in-person interview
Additionally, applicants must be willing to attend training at one of CPD’s accredited facilities — either in Mpumalanga or Gauteng (depending on scheduling and availability).

2. Apply Online or Walk-In:
Applications can be submitted through CPD Academy’s website at cpda.co.za, or in person at one of their campuses. Walk-in assessments usually happen in the mornings between 06:30 and 07:00, from Monday to Wednesday.
3. Assessments:
Shortlisted applicants will be invited for a psychometric evaluation and interview. If successful, you’ll receive an offer to enroll in the programme.
4. Enrollment & Fees:
Although the learnership is partially subsidised, learners may be required to pay a registration fee and initial training contribution. These fees are explained during induction and may cover uniform, study materials, and admin costs.
Stipend & Salary Potential
Learners start the programme without pay, but from Phase 2 (usually after 2–3 months), they begin earning a monthly stipend. Salaries increase as learners advance:
- Starting stipend: R2,500 – R4,500
- Mid-programme: R6,500 – R9,000
- Completion phase: Up to R12,000 – R26,000 gross (depending on placement)
Upon graduation, CPD Academy helps learners secure job placements with transport and logistics companies operating within Mpumalanga and across South Africa.
